Ingredients
- 12 lasagna sheets
- 500g minced beef
- 100g pancetta, diced
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 carrot, finely chopped
- 1 celery stick, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp tomato puree
- 400g passata
- 150ml red wine
- 500ml milk
- 40g butter
- 40g plain flour
- 80g parmesan, grated
- Nutmeg, salt, and black pepper
Method
Cook the pancetta, onion, carrot, and celery until softened.
Add the beef and brown well, then stir in tomato puree, wine, and passata. Simmer gently for 1 hour.
Make a bechamel by whisking butter, flour, and milk until thickened. Season with nutmeg.
Layer ragu, pasta sheets, bechamel, and parmesan in a baking dish.
Bake at 190C/170C fan/gas 5 for 35-40 minutes until bubbling and golden.
Rest for 15 minutes before serving.
